4   slices bacon
1   medium onion, chopped
1   green pepper, chopped
16 oz  kidney beans, drained
16 oz  pinto beans, drained
16 oz  green beans, drained
16 oz  butter beans, drained
3/4 cup  brown sugar
3/4 cup  chili sauce
1/2 cup  Mr. Brown (crust), chopped
1/4 cup  barbecue sauce, (Cattlemen's Smoky)
1/8 cup  cayenne pepper sauce, (Frank's original),

Partially fry up the bacon and reserve 2 Tbs. of the drippings and saut‚ the chopped onion and green pepper. Add the rest of the ingredients to a large pot and mix well, being careful not to mash the beans. Cover the pot and simmer slowly for approximately one hour, stirring occasionally.

This makes for a good pot of beans when you want something just a little bit out of the ordinary. Sometimes I'll sprinkle the bacon with a good, sweet dry rub before I fry it up. (Try it sometime.) When we make it here at the house, I always make up at least a double batch because they make for a great late night snack! I just give the bed covers an extra "tuck" here and there when I go to bed that night.

NOTES: These are a bit sweeter than most baked beans, but I like to spice them up a bit. I'll warn you up front though, they'll turn you into a "Rocky Mountain Yodeler" if you're not careful with them. And for that reason, I think I call them "Rocky Mountain Yodelers!"
