Spray a flat, short-sided baking pan with spray oil. Make two alternating layers of ham and cheese; dot each layer with hot sauce and pour half of the maple syrup over each layer. Cover and bake at 300 degrees until cheese melts or place in microwave for about 8 minutes until cheese melts. Keep warm in a chafing dish (over hot water). This recipe yields 8 to 10 servings. Comments: An adaptation of the Tiger Burger served at L.S.U. in 1959 (the year L.S.U. had the #1 football team in the U.S. and our innkeeper-cook was there). It usually serves 8 to 10 but sometimes I have to make another recipe, thank goodness it is quick and easy to do so. |
